Since 2004, Community Health Partners has been at the forefront of HIV/AIDS care and treatment in Narok County. Supported by the Christian Health Association of Kenya and PEPFAR, the programme currently operates across 6 sites in Narok South and Narok West sub-counties, providing a full range of HIV/AIDS services to individuals, families and communities.
HIV/AIDS remains a significant public health challenge in Narok County. Many communities in the region face barriers to accessing testing, treatment and care including geographical remoteness, cultural stigma, limited health infrastructure and low awareness. Without sustained, community-rooted intervention, many people living with HIV in these areas would have no access to the life-saving services they need.
The programme offers a comprehensive range of integrated health services across 6 sites in Narok County including HIV testing and counselling, Antiretroviral Therapy (ART), Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT), TB treatment, Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), palliative care, gender-based violence screening and referral, and community HIV/AIDS awareness and education.
By combining clinical care with community education and stigma reduction, CHP ensures that people living with HIV in Narok County receive not just treatment but the dignity, support and continuity of care they deserve.
The programme serves individuals, families and communities across Narok South and Narok West sub-counties. This includes people living with HIV, pregnant mothers requiring PMTCT services, tuberculosis patients, survivors of gender-based violence, and community members seeking HIV testing, counselling and awareness. The programme has been rooted in these communities since 2004 and continues to grow its reach year on year.
Operating since 2004 across 6 sites in Narok County, the HIV/AIDS Care & Treatment programme has served thousands of individuals and families over two decades. The programme’s long-term presence in the region has contributed to increased HIV testing rates, improved ART adherence, reduced mother to child transmission and greater community awareness and reduction of stigma around HIV/AIDS in Narok County.
The HIV/AIDS Care & Treatment programme is supported by the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK) and funded through PEPFAR. These partnerships have been instrumental in sustaining and expanding the programme’s reach across Narok County since its establishment in 2004.
